- Generally,
use Search People (click left button above)
- You do not
need to enter data in every field of the Search screen -
start with the top 2 or 3 fields
- To search
for Chair/CEO/COOs do not enter a function (or use General
Management--other function choices will return no matches)
- Use the
lower search fields to drill down deeper
- Keywords can
be used to find specific industry segments (ie. Insurance or
Software);
past companies; educational affiliation; area codes;
cities; zip codes; and investors.
- Keyword
searches will take a little longer to "crunch"
- Multiple
words in Keywords are automatically joined by AND - to use
"or" enter capitalized: "OR"
- The Search
People application displays the first 250 matches for your search
- Export data
from the List (Results) page. It is formatted as a csv
file which may be opened with Excel
- Click on the
name on the List page to go to the Profile view
- Use Search
Company application (above) to see companies by Roster
view. This data cannot be exported, although you can copy
and paste. To export, do the same search in Search People
(company = Apple Computer) and then export from the List
page
- Search
Archives to dig for elusive data or to identify the last
known employer of specific people.
